The Division of Perioperative Informatics at the University of California San Diego School of Medicine stands as a pioneering force in healthcare advancement. ​Integrating the science behind artificial intelligence to leverage large clinical datasets to optimize patient care is the cornerstone of our group's mission. By seamlessly bridging machine learning, artificial intelligence, and natural language processing, the division spearheads a transformative approach to optimize clinical processes. Our group focuses on impactful clinical problems that matter, ranging from the opioid crisis, optimization of patients prior to surgery, identification of social determinants of health, operating room efficiency, and optimizing perioperative outcomes.
